England's Grand Slam starts today, with this year being hotly contested for both Men's and Women's. It is the 125th time Wimbledon has been played, it is the most prized Grand Slam.
128 players are hoping to last the fortnight and be the last one standing, will England's champion Andy Murray win or will the Swiss King Roger Federer win again. Who knows? It is anyone's game.
My predictions for the Semi-Finals:
Men's Singles
1. Roger Federer a 5 time Wimbledon winner, will start favorite to win again.
2. Novak Djokavic, has only lost once in 2011 and is looking to carry the form over.
3. Rafael Nadal, French Open winner is hoping to play well on his least favorite surface.
4. English Andy Murray has the crowd support and is trying to give them what they want, after losing in the final last year.
Nadal after winning last year |
1. Maria Sharapova has a good chance to claim her 2nd Wimbledon title.
2. Li Na, French Open winner is in the form of her life and is looking to continue it.
3. Serena Williams, is defending her title but has only just recovered from injury.
4. Carolina Wozniaki, is no. 1 in the world but has never performed well in Grand Slams. Can she end the drought?
The Women's singles are so close it is hard to pick and anyone can win on their day.
