47 - Tour de France preview

Post no. 47 here:
Tour de France starts July 2nd and here is a preview of what might happen in the 3 weeks of the greatest cycling race of all time.

The 2011 Tour de France will have 198 riders competing over 3 weeks covering more than 3,430 kilometers from the west coast of Europe to Paris. The race will include a team time-trial, an individual time-trial and nine days in the mountains, including a climb up the legendary Alpe d'Huez.

Defending champion Alberto Contador his main rival Andy Schleck and sprint king Mark Cavendish will all be on the start line on July 2, as will a six-man Australian contingent including Cadel Evans and gun rookie Richie Porte. Who will be wearing the coveted yellow jersey on July 24th?
Cadel Evans & Alberto Contador
Cadel Evans and Alberto Contador

Alberto Contador is the best rider in the world, and is able to win both Giro d'Italia and Tour de France in the same year the only problem is that he is involved in a doping scandal and might be side tracked.

Hopefully Australian's Cadel Evans is able to cause an upset and finish on top after 3 brutal weeks.

Joke of the Day:
Q. Did you hear about the red ship and the blue ship that collided?

A. Both crews were marooned

  4. I honestly don't care anymore for the tour. Whoever wins will most likely get busted for cheating and it'll become pointless.
